Lil Tay, 18, calls ‘women working 9-5s failures’ after making $15 million in two weeks on OnlyFans

Lil Tay has explained what she meant when she said women over 25 who were working a 9-5 were a ‘failure’.

The viral star joined OnlyFans after turning 18 and said she made a million dollars in about three hours on the adult website, with her bragging that she was ‘still the youngest one doing it’ and asked the ‘grown a** haters who’ve been hating since I was nine years old’ how they felt now.

Having gained her initial fame in 2018 by claiming she was able to buy expensive things, Lil Tay shared a breakdown of her earnings showing that in three hours she’d made $511,003 from subscriptions, $486,558 from private messages with fans and another $26,736 from tips.

Making a million dollars in a few hours, the viral star took to social media where she called out women working regular hours, saying: “If you’re over the age of 25 and you’re still working a 9 to 5, you are a failure. Like, by then you should’ve already made your bag.

“And ladies, every single one of you should drop the link, like me. Literally, just make your bag. Who gives a f**k what anybody thinks?”

Speaking to Page Six after she joined OnlyFans, Lil Tay said she made $15 million in two weeks and explained why she called out women working a 9-5.

OnlyFans star Sophie Rain shares new proof of last 18 month's earnings after making $43 million in one year

The 18-year-old said she was ‘misunderstood’ and was just trying to ‘motivate’ women to make more money as she said she gets ‘more money than most people ever f**king touch in their life’.

She added: “Every woman should be empowered and every woman should do whatever the hell they want to do.”

Of course if every woman got onto OnlyFans they wouldn’t make much money, and 76 percent of all money on the site goes to 0.1 percent of accounts.

Lil Tay later said ‘people say that money doesn’t buy happiness, but it does’, and revealed that despite her initial viral image of being a child with cash to splash, she was actually ‘broke’ and didn’t get money from her family.

She recently claimed that she ‘got kicked out‘ by her family after they learned she’d joined OnlyFans and she was now ‘disowned’.

Telling Page Six about her joining the site, Lil Tay said she wasn’t concerned about ‘creepy’ older men subscribing to her account as she said they’d been looking at pictures of her since she was 15 and she might as well make money from it.

She also said a ‘top spender’ had asked her to pose with bottles of baby oil, alluding to the parties Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs held.

Given her age, there has been plenty of criticism over Lil Tay joining OnlyFans, with some saying it was ‘sad as hell’ and wondering ‘what the hell is wrong with people’ that so many would sign up to her account when she’d just turned 18.

Others have asked questions over her actual age, as when the viral star first became famous in 2018 she claimed she was nine years old, which wouldn’t add up if she’d turned 18 in 2025.

OnlyFans star Sophie Rain shares new proof of last 18 month’s earnings after making $43 million in one year

A screenshot showing her earnings was shown on the vlog, while someone else figured out that the OnlyFans star was raking in $28,472 (£21,000) an hour over that period of time with those figures.

Rain said she was ‘nervous’ because she felt like ‘all of this could disappear tomorrow’, but unless she’s got the kind of spending habits on par with a small country she ought to be alright.

It’s worth noting that this $82 million figure is the gross, so that’s the total amount of cash coming her way rather than what she’ll end up with, as taxes and expenses will extract a chunk of those earnings.

The top earners on OnlyFans

While there’s clearly money to be made on OnlyFans, 76 percent of the cash spent goes to just 0.1 percent of content creators according to OnlyGuider, while the average creator only makes about $1,300 (£960) a year.

Sophie Rain’s $43 million in a year is impressive for OnlyFans, though Iggy Azalea claimed she’d made $48 million (£35.5 million) in a year and so surpassed Rain in annual earnings, though she’s since quit the platform so Rain has made more overall.

Cardi B made $46.7 million on the platform, while it’s estimated that viral star Bhad Bhabie has raked in about $59 million (£43.6 million) during her time on there.

The actor Bella Thorne was reckoned to have made $37.3 million (£27.6 million) from her time on OnlyFans, while Belle Delphine is estimated to have earned about $34 million (£25 million) in the past year.

Question over Lil Tay's age after she 'earned $1 million in three hours on OnlyFans' when turning 18

“Y’all been doubting me for seven years,” Lil Tay continued. “You can hate on me all you want, you can’t say Lil Tay ain’t winning. So for everybody out there, do whatever the hell you want with your life.

“Who gives a f**k what people have to say? And remember this – Lil Tay rich and finna get richer! Oh yeah, and thank you to all my supporters who pre-ordered since 2018, or whenever you did.”

However, not everyone was happy about her celebrating her 18th birthday by immediately joining the platform. The viral star rather bizarrely described herself as ‘freshly 18’ in her OnlyFans bio, which also states: “Please don’t tell my mom.”

Question over Lil Tay’s age

Many thought it was odd that Lil Tay was 18 already after having claimed to be nine years old when she first shot to online fame in 2018.

If she claimed to be nine in 2018 and 18 now, the math just isn’t mathing.

In 2023, Lil Tay was also subject to a traumatising death hoax, which alleged that she had died at ’14’. The influencer later spoke out, confirming she was ‘safe and alive’.

But again, this doesn’t seem to add up.

So, there’s a question to be answered.

People online were quick to share their thoughts on Lil Tay joining the OnlyFans, with one user commenting: “That’s actually sad as hell. She JUST turned 18.”

Another said: “We saw this girl grow up, what the hell is wrong with people?”

A third added: “I hope she’s just tricking these people cuzzz whattt.”

OnlyFans’ Age & Identity Verification policy

OnlyFans is pretty strict with its 18s and over policy, which is secured by an age verification process.

Its website states: “Keeping our community safe is a priority for OnlyFans. It is very important that we know who is using our platform and that they are at least 18 years old.”

OnlyFans adds: “You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and access content on the OnlyFans platform as a Fan or as a Creator.

“It is against our Terms of Service and our Acceptable Use Policy for anyone who is under 18 years old to view, access or post content on OnlyFans. We invest heavily in technology and human moderation teams to make sure this policy is followed. If anyone seeks to get around these policies and controls, OnlyFans will take appropriate action against them.”

As for how the site ensures a person’s age, it asks for a user’s:

Lil Tay has claimed that her family have ‘disowned’ her since she controversially joined OnlyFans after turning 18.

The teenage social media star told her 5.7million Instagram followers she is now a ‘homeless millionaire’ after her parents supposedly showed her the door.

It comes just weeks after she marked her ascent into adulthood by slapping a link inside her bio to the X-rated adult subscription site.

According to Lil Tay – whose real name is Claire Hope, although she also goes by Tay Tian – she raked in more than $1 million in the first three hours.

Fans thought she’d opted for quite the ‘disturbing’ USP after flicking through her page though, as the content creator describes herself as ‘freshly 18’ in her bio, which also states: “Please don’t tell my mom.”

Oh, and she also branded people working 9-5’s instead of hopping on the OnlyFans gravy train ‘failures’. It’s all in a day’s work for Lil Tay.

“If you’re over the age of 25 and you’re still working a 9 to 5, you are a failure,” the 18-year-old said. “Like, by then you should’ve already made your bag.

“And ladies, every single one of you should drop the link, like me. Literally, just make your bag. Who gives a f**k what anybody thinks?

“Screw your family, my family kicked me out. I got disowned, they don’t talk to me anymore.

“They don’t f**k with me. But who gives a s**t. I can literally buy their whole life if I wanted to. I’m good.

“Also, f**k education because Harvard was never gonna help me make eight figures. That’s why I dropped out of it and I dropped the link instead.”

Take a look at the clip here, but beware, it is brimming with strong language:

So, it seems that Lil Tay’s OnlyFans venture didn’t go down too well with her dad Christopher Hope, her mother Angela Tian, or her half-brother Jason.

However, a lot of social media users suspect she might have been ‘rage baiting’ – as one person pointed out, she’s got quite the track record for it.

One person said: “Y’all forgot Lil Tay was rage baiting since she was young?”

Another added: “Man this is just wild, I have no words.”

A third wrote: “Does that make you proud? Cause it seems like ur flexing… fyi that’s not a flex.”
