13-year-old boy rolled his ancient piano onto the front lawn. This was it: his moment!

In 2020, the National Health Service (NHS) will undoubtedly face significant challenges. In addition to their regular duties of keeping British residents alive and well, they have been tasked with combating Covid-19 and keeping track of the country’s hundreds of thousands of cases. Many people have devised unique methods to express their thanks to the NHS.

This is not always simple while attempting to maintain social distance.

One brilliant young man, however, discovered a method to express his gratitude to his neighbors.

Cole Lam, a 13-year-old with an abundance of skill, took to his front yard during “Clap for Carers,” a weekly event held on Thursdays at 8 p.m. across the UK. With a multitude of videos online demonstrating his remarkable piano and keyboard talents, it’s no surprise that he’s regarded as a local talent in his small neighborhood. Now he can put his power to good use by assisting the nurses and paramedics in his community.

And he had a great crowd for his performance!

Armed with only a piano, an amplifier, and his bucketload of skill, he puts on a great performance instead of merely standing outside and clapping to show support for the NHS! The song selection is typical of British music.

What about the song? Here’s a brief snippet from the band Queen!

Cole performs one of Queen’s most upbeat and rocking tunes, “Don’t Stop Me Now.” It’s one of those fantastic rock ballads with highs and lows, shifting between massive rock and roll swells and delicate piano intros and outros. It’s impossible not to enjoy listening to it, and it exemplifies the fortitude of the hardworking NHS at this difficult time.

So all of the neighbors flock to watch in awe.

I’m thinking Cole’s ability is well known to his neighbors, and they appear to enjoy his little performance.

Even the police showed up!

Don’t worry, he isn’t in any danger! In reality, it is just the contrary. A police officer watches on triumphantly, flashing his lights and sounding the siren when Cole finishes. How awesome is it!

When he’s finished, his neighbors applaud him enthusiastically.

This extremely gifted young man has utilized his talent to send a simple tip of his cap to those who risk their lives (and sanity!) daily. Not happy with merely standing outside and clapping for a minute, he goes above and beyond to express his gratitude. When he’s finished, he proudly rises up, and his neighbors express their thanks to him.
